KAIT KYBAR: CHARACTERS

Character art, there is so much of it out there, and so much is awesome and wicked – so many character artists have amazing imaginations. Kait Kybar seems to have carved out a bit of a niche for himself – I think his work stands out from a lot of what I've seen. This piece in particular caught my eye, very cool mech-militant-robot-dude, love the colour and mood. Check his work here.

LOIS VAN BAARLE: FLOW

Lois Van Baarle demonstrates her beautiful illustration style in this series I came across on behance this morning. A quick trip to her website provides many more pieces of inspiration. In her bio she states that she's been drawing "since the day I could hold a pencil" but only within the last few years has she made the switch to digital art. I really like the sense of depth and the richness in colour in this series and how her characters sit nicely between comical and real-life. Check out the whole series here and Lois's website here.

GARY MCALLISTER: DIGITAL ART

I found this piece by Gary McAllister on behance this morning. I just thought it was a great capture from a great film. The shot this piece was taken from is one of many classic Dark Knight moments. Gary's done a great job at recreating this shot, the colour, depth of field and detail all look great. It makes me want to watch the movie again. I think this would look great as a large scale print up on my wall. Check out Gary's behance profile here, there weren't many pieces when I last looked but hopefully he's got more on the way.
