ANDRE FOSTER
How bad-ass does this character look by Andre Foster. I would not want it as my arch nemesis. I love the style too, nice to see a bit of texture in the detail too. Awesome. More of Andre's work here.

JUSTIN MALLER: ECHOES
Amazing use of shape and colour here from Justin Maller. Feels very sci-fi/retro futuristic – which suits me just fine right now. Check out more of Justin's work here.

KILIAN ENG / DW DESIGN
Through my recent interest in retro futurism in both art and music I've come across Kilian Eng's work a lot – and I thought it was about time I posted some of it here. I love it, I think I prefer his more technological pieces, where lights and space travel remind me of all the good things about good sci-fi. Check out his tumblr page for loads more of his work.

FRANCISCO PEREZ
I always got a bit freaked out during sci-fi films when some unfortunate soul was projected into space away from their space craft with nothing to control their trajectory, dependant on the life support offered by their space suit, usually only lasting several hours. I can't think of a more lonely way to die. Alone in the cold, black void of space – which I assume is what happened to this poor lad above (top). The second piece, I thought was just really cool. The minimal use of colour has resulted in a strong output and really unique use of lighting. Nice pieces here by Francisco Perez, check out more of goodness here.

BLEUBLANCROUGE: STAR WARS IDENTITIES
Just another fine example of an artist's expression of the star wars universe. Love the detail. There are a whole heap of star wars pieces in this series. Check them. And take a look at the Bleublancrouge website.

KAIT KYBAR: CHARACTERS
Character art, there is so much of it out there, and so much is awesome and wicked – so many character artists have amazing imaginations. Kait Kybar seems to have carved out a bit of a niche for himself – I think his work stands out from a lot of what I've seen. This piece in particular caught my eye, very cool mech-militant-robot-dude, love the colour and mood. Check his work here.

ATELIER OLSCHINSKY: OUTPOST
Some truly epic abstract landscapes of a futuristic world – that's my take on these pieces by Viennese studio Atelier Olschinsky anyway. I posted some of Atelier's work a while back and it's amazing to see how much their style has developed. The detail is incredible. See more of their work here.

GREG HAYNES: TRIANGLE HEAD
When I first this set on Greg Hayne's behance profile I was very impressed, the ever-present 12 year old in me went berserk. My first impression was that this was a digital 3D model, however after closer inspection I believe this is infact an actual model constructed and photographed by Greg! Again with the berserk! By referring to my inner 12 year old I do not want to imply that this is in anyway childish. Instead for me I get a sense of nostalgia from amazing cartoons I had seen as a kid (Astro, G-force, Voltron etc) intertwined with my current obsession/amazement at science fiction and modern technology. I think I will always get a little excited when technology and art collide. It is an area my imagination likes to wonder in and something that's always awesome when executed correctly (like this piece). The tag on the shoulder is a great touch too. Greg has a wonderfully diverse folio that I recommend checking, otherwise the whole series of pics for this piece can be found here and website here.
