FITZ FITZPATRICK: 8-BIT

I'm seeing these illustrations by Fitz pop up everywhere, and rightly so. They are awesome. I love the way he is able to define each character with only a few pixels and colour, and the subtle humour is a nice touch. And there are more! Check them all out here.

8-BITTY: THE WORLD'S MOST EPIC VIDEO GAME T-SHIRT

Design is another that I entered into the Design by Humans 8-bit t-shirt design competition. I thought I'd try a different approach to an 8-bit tee with this design, a little more traditional. The title, a gigantic call, is just a lighthearted poke at bombastic marketing, essentially I just wanted to reference as many video game clichés as I could within the given timeline (which wasn't much time at all). In light of my 8-bit tees I thought I'd post these epically cool 8-bit movie posters. There is something really quite humble about 8-bit graphics and I love that they have found a place in today's art world – although hopefully not to be over done. KISS: FLABBERGASTER (FRIDAY FUN)

For those that don't know I am an avid video games fan. Sometimes I think this comes through in my art work. I thought this would slot nicely into friday afternoon (time of posting).
